 PHYSIOTHERAPY FOR CHILDREN & ADOLESCENTS

Physiotherapy for Children and Adolescents

Children and adolescents suffer injuries which are unique to them and need to be managed and treated differently to adults.

The team at Street Physiotherapy Practice are all experienced at assessing and diagnosing these unique injuries having spent many years at Millfield and Millfield Preparatory School. They will know when they can treat, develop a graded rehab programme or when they may need to refer on.

The most common areas we see are:

  • Hypermobility
  • Knees e.g. Patellofemoral problems , Osgood Schlatters
  • Heels e.g. Severs, Plantar Fasciitis
  • Back pain
  • Shoulder pain
  • Overuse injuries
  • Scoliosis

At the initial visit we do a full Biomechanical Assessment to determine the cause of the problem and a mutually agreed plan made. This may include stretching to address any tight muscles and strengthening exercises to correct any muscle imbalances.
